My wife Cathy is an amazing mother.  I marvel as to how easily she relates to our children and grandson.  Recently, I overheard Cathy reading the children’s book, The Cookie Store Cat, to our twenty year-old daughter.  I wasn’t surprised.  Courtney is still a child at heart and Cathy relishes the role of storyteller.

Everyone needs encouragement.

I find myself still stunned following the tragic events in Charlottesville, Virginia last weekend.  The first question that leapt to mind was, “When will the hatred and violence stop, O Lord?”  

The newest insult on the playground is, “You’re a bully!”  How common are bullies and how are we to respond?

Let me tell you something brother, you’d be a fool to think you can wrestle with God and win.
