“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life”. (Proverbs 4:23, ESV)

I am not prone to omphalophobia (the fear of belly buttons). I don’t give them much thought. However, I am a bit of an ophidiophobe. I don’t care much for snakes.

“For now, we see through a glass, darkly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then shall I know, even as also I am known”. (1 Corinthians 13:12, KJ21)

“But if you don’t do what you say, you will be sinning against GOD; you can be sure that your sin will track you down” (Numbers 32:23, MSG).

I had the privilege of attending a prayer service hosted by our local city council members.  One of the speakers reminded me of a quote by the late Mother Theresa. “Today, if we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other…”.

“Sing to the LORD a new song because he has done wonderful things! His own strong hand and his own holy arm have won the victory!” (Psalm 98:1, CEB).

My youngest son is an adventurous soul. He is a white-water rafting guide. A few years ago, the insisted that his parents take a trip down the river with him. To compound the excitement, the river was swollen from heavy rains. What typically is a leisurely level three experience turned into a level four thrill ride into the bowels of doom.
