     The first nine chapters of the First Chronicles list several generations beginning with Adam and concluding in the early sixth century B.C. Genealogies can be boring unless the genealogy happens to list your family. The more personal a document is, the more interesting it becomes.

Daily Devotional Oct. 3, 2022

“You shall not steal” (Exodus 20:15, ESV).

 

     Last Thursday, the security cameras at a toy shop in Tabatinga, Brazil recorded a dog wandering into the store. The footage revealed the dog latching onto a stuffed sheep, then attempting a fast get-away. To the dog’s chagrin, the toy animal became stuck in the doorway leaving the pup no choice but to drop its newly found prize. Life can be ruff when you’re a stray (oops, I mean rough).

 “Don’t jump to conclusions – there may be a perfectly good explanation for what you just saw”

     Not everything is as it seems. Unfortunately, this saying holds true for movie buffs. I am a big fan of the 1939 iconic film, The Wizard of Oz. I like the fact the Wicked Witch gets justice in the end. I am encouraged that Dorothy and Toto live happily ever after.

     Earlier this month an Arizona shop set a Guinness world record for having the most milkshake flavors. Snow Cap,
an ice cream shop in Seligman, offers its customers 266 different milkshake flavors. Among others, the shop’s owners serve such refreshing treats, such as peanut butter and onion, banana and chili, and orange and fish burger. Don’t these options make your tastebuds water?
