Taylor Ostergaard and Linsey Zellitti wanted to do something nice for their neighbors. Late in the evening, they walked from house to house delivering the cookies they had baked. At 10:30 p.m., they pounded on the door of a woman who experienced a panic attack because of the girl’s late-night visit.

There’s an amusing story told about the late British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. One day, Churchill was entertaining questions from members of the House of Commons. A memberof the Socialist party railed against Churchill, spewing venomous words against him. Meanwhile, Winston Churchill remained impassive. He actually looked bored. When it came time for Churchill to respond, he rose and said, “If I valued the opinion of the honorable gentleman, I might get angry.”

I admired her and at the same time I felt badly for her. I watched from a distance as a young mother pushed a stroller with two toddlers up a steep incline. Her diminutive stature didn’t do her any favors for this particular task.
